Overview
An untested backup is a hypothesis. Ransomware operators specifically target backup repositories, and organisations routinely discover during an incident that their backups were incomplete, encrypted along with production, or simply had not run for months.
Techx4u designs backup around recovery. We agree an RPO and RTO for each workload, implement immutable off-site copies that cannot be altered or deleted by an attacker, and prove the design by performing scheduled restore tests and documenting the results.
Backup and disaster recovery (often written backup & disaster recovery, or BDR) means two things: keeping safe copies of your data, and being able to run the business again after a major failure.

Frequently asked questions
Isn't Microsoft 365 already backed up?
Microsoft operates under a shared responsibility model: they guarantee service availability, you remain responsible for your data. Retention is limited and does not protect against malicious deletion or long-dwell compromise. A dedicated 365 backup is strongly recommended.
How often do you test restores?
At minimum quarterly for critical systems, with a full DR rehearsal annually. Test results are documented and shared with you.
