What does an IT consulting company do?
An IT consulting company advises on technology decisions and helps deliver them: assessing what you have, planning what you need and managing the change. Good technology consulting is independent of any vendor and ends with a clear plan, costs and owners.
How long does a strategy engagement take?
Typically four to eight weeks depending on the size of the estate and the number of stakeholders. We prefer shorter, focused engagements that produce a decision over long studies that produce a document.
Are you tied to any vendors?
We hold partnerships with vendors we deploy operationally, and we disclose every one of them in our recommendations. Where a recommendation involves a partner product, we say so explicitly and present alternatives.
Do you work waterfall or agile?
Both, chosen to fit the work. Infrastructure migrations with hard cutover dates suit a structured plan; application and process change usually suits iterative delivery.
Do you implement, or only design?
Both. We can hand a design to your team or your incumbent provider, or implement it ourselves end to end.
How long does ISO 27001 certification take?
For a mid-sized organisation starting from a reasonable baseline, six to twelve months from kickoff to Stage 2 audit is realistic. The ISMS needs to be genuinely operating for a period before an auditor will certify it.
