What is cloud security?

Under the shared responsibility model, the provider secures the cloud; securing what you put in it remains entirely yours.
What should I look for in a cloud security company?
A good cloud security company follows cloud security best practices in its own work: least-privilege access, multi-factor authentication for every administrator, logging switched on everywhere, continuous checks for misconfigurations and a clear process for fixing what it finds. Ask to see sample reports and who responds to alerts.
Does CNAPP replace CSPM and CWPP?
It includes both. CNAPP is the umbrella platform; CSPM and CWPP are capabilities within it. Buying them separately is viable but generally costs more and loses the correlation benefit.
Does it work across multiple cloud providers?
Yes. CWPP is designed for multi-cloud and hybrid estates, applying one policy set across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and on-premises virtualisation.
Can it fix problems automatically?
Yes, for classes of finding you approve — public buckets, unencrypted volumes, overly open security groups. Higher-impact changes are raised for human decision.
Does this work with managed Kubernetes services?
Yes — EKS, AKS, GKE and self-managed clusters are all supported, with checks adjusted for the control-plane elements each provider manages.
How is this different from CSPM?
CSPM asks whether your configuration is safe. Cloud XDR asks whether someone is attacking you right now. Posture management is preventive; XDR is detective and responsive. You need both.
